Patients place one finger from each hand on to the two electrodes on the strip, and the devices records a single-lead ECG tracing. These devices have integrated algorithms that are able to detect the presence of AF based on the irregularity of the RR intervals and presence of a P-wave. This device produces a six-lead ECG tracing by using a sensor on the back of the device that can be placed on the leg.
